Vladimir Putin said the world needs to be talking to North Korea instead of making threatsby Circa News
Global News

Russian President Vladimir Putin made it clear on Monday that Moscow was opposed to more countries developing or acquiring nuclear weapons, but that it also believed the world needed to change its approach with regards to North Korea. Putin said the world needs to talk to North Korea instead of constantly making threats, Reuters reported.

"We are totally against any expansion of the club of nuclear powers, including North Korea's addition," said Putin. "We need to return to dialogue with North Korea and stop scaring it."

Putin was speaking in Beijing. He said that nuclear tests like the ones occurring in Pyongyang were unacceptable, but that a peaceful solution to the trouble brewing on the Korean peninsula must be found.

The Russian leader was briefed on the nuclear tests by his defense minister. He was assured that Russia was in no danger of a nuclear attack by the North Koreans.

That being said, not many on Twitter are ready to take advice from the Russian president.

However, the U.S. might have some other problems to solve before thinking of a solution.
