If you thought your holiday bonus was generous, take a look at what the boss of an Iowa cabinet company did for his employees.

On Dec. 20, Bertch Cabinets in Waterloo, Iowa, announced on its Facebook page that all of its more than 800 employees will get a free Caribbean cruise next month.

“We leave Jan. 8,” the company's president, Gary Bertch, told the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier. "We’ve got four charter aircraft that will be flying directly to Miami Sunday and staying at a nice five-star hotel. Then on Monday, we’ll bus over from the hotel to the port and load up on the ship."

Bertch told the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier that the trip was a reward for their hard work to meet goals this past year. Last year, he offered the cruise as an incentive for employees.

"We just tried to get all of our people pumped up a little more to achieve the various goals, both customer-oriented goals and financial goals."

Plenty of people on Facebook took note of what Bertch did and applauded the move.

"You guys are what every company should inspire to be. You reward hard work and that is rare now and days," Facebook user Adam Astersk wrote.

The move may have even attracted some business.

"It is nice to know that there are still companies that care about their employees more than executive bonuses and vacation homes," wrote Devon Williams. "I am now a future customer!"

Others added that this is a great reminder that a company is only as good as its employees and rewarding them for hard work will only make the company more successful.
