The National Security Agency chief said "a nation-state" leaked emails to WikiLeaks.

James Bell, a BuzzFeed reporter who used to work for WikiLeaks, spelled it out.

"The campaign was unable to invoke evidence about our publications because none exists."

Julian Assange

Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, has repeatedly denied any ties to Russia, saying there is no evidence.

"The Clinton campaign... pointed to unnamed sources or to speculative and vague statements from the intelligence community to suggest a nefarious allegiance with Russia," he wrote.

Trump critics jumped on the news.
