Millie Bobby Brown turns 13 on Sunday. Here's why she's awesome beyond 'Stranger Things.'by Chris Serico

WATCH | Heralded for the electricity she brings to her breakthrough role of Jane "Eleven" Ives on "Stranger Things," Millie Bobby Brown is celebrating her 13th birthday this coming Sunday.

Born in Spain to British parents on Feb. 19, 2004, Brown breaks molds (and enemies' bones) as Eleven on Netflix's hit series.

Before her breakthrough role, she landed parts on "NCIS," "Grey's Anatomy," "Modern Family" and "Intruders."

She told Indiewire shaving her head for "Stranger Things" was the "best decision" she'd made.

Her peers appear to agree: Brown earned a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series and shared a SAG Award victory when "Stranger Things" won Outstanding Performance in an Ensemble in a Drama Series. (Cue the Winona Ryder pizza meme!)

She's also modeling: The first ad from her Calvin Klein campaign launched in January.

Brown brought the house down on NBC's "Tonight Show" last September, when she rapped Nicki Minaj's verse from the rap hit "Monster." (Brown's rendition begins at the 4:40 mark of this video.)

Music suits her: She stars in Sigma's "Find Me" music video, which has more than 10 Million YouTube views.
