Bazinga! CBS announced Monday that it is making a "Big Bang Theory" spinoff about young Sheldon Cooper. 

The new show, created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, will follow 9-year-old Sheldon while he's living with his family and going to school in East Texas. 

The spinoff comes as "Big Bang Theory" enters its 10th season. 

Iain Armitage of HBO's "Big Little Lies" was chosen to play 9-year-old Sheldon. Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon on "Big Bang Theory" will narrate the new series.

Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Raegan Revord and Montana Jordan will also star in the new show. 

The half-hour comedy series will air in the fall. CBS will likely release its fall schedule at its Upfronts presentation in New York in May, CNN reports.

It's unclear when the new series will air, but CNN reports that CBS has traditionally placed new shows in the slot after "Big Bang Theory."
