If you want to get on a plane and feel like you will never, ever exit, get ready for 2018.
Qantas Airlines announced a nonstop passenger route from Perth, Australia to London, CNN Money reports. It's expected to arrive in March 2018 and cover 9,009 miles over its 17-hour journey.
Qantas already has a England-Australia flight, but this would be the first nonstop version. Stops in Singapore and Dubai are current parts of the "Kangaroo Route."
The technical details
The longest flight by distance is Air India's flight between New Delhi and San Francisco, which covers 9,408 miles. But it takes a mere 16 hours and 15 minutes, thanks to the jet stream.
If the Perth-London flight launched today, it would be the world's longest. But by February 2017, there is expect to be a new "longest-flight" champion: Qatar Airways' planned route from Auckland, New Zealand to Doha, Qatar, which clocks in at 17 hours and 45 minutes.
