McDonald's said its tweet calling Trump 'disgusting' was the result of a hackby Mike Denison

UPDATE  10:24 a.m. EST:

McDonald's tweeted from its corporate account that the tweet that insulted Trump was the result of a hack.

"Twitter notified us that our account was compromised," the tweet read. "We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this."

ORIGINAL STORY: McDonald's tweeted harsh insults toward President Trump from its verified corporate account Thursday morning.

It is not clear if the tweet, which was pinned but swiftly deleted, was the result of a hack or a member of the McDonald's social media team sending an unauthorized message.

A McDonald's spokesperson said the matter was being investigated.

This shows the original tweet.

Some thought this was a statement from an anti-Trump employee.

Others thought the fact that the tweet was pinned was the sign of a hacker.

Trump is a McDonald's fan.
