Karen Fiorito's latest artwork went on display on Friday in Phoenix. It's a billboard that shows President Trump's face, with swastikas made of dollar signs and mushroom clouds in the background. (Note the Russian flag lapel pin.)
The other side of the billboard shows five hands spelling out "Unity" in sign language.
This billboard, she told The Arizona Republic, has gotten her death threats.
Fiorito was commissioned to make the billboard by Phoenix-based Gallery La Melgosa. In 2004, when she was an art student at Arizona State University, she made a billboard criticizing then-President George W. Bush, showing him and his allies with text reading, "Dear America, We lied to you for your own good. Now trust us."
She said she made that billboard because "Saying anything about the president or the government was very, very taboo" and no gallery would accept her work.
