Bill O'Reilly met with the Pope as rumors swirled about his job statusby Circa News

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly briefly met with Pope Francis at the Vatican on Wednesday, The New York Times reports

O'Reilly has been dogged by rumors that he may leave Fox News after a New York Times report said he had settled multiple sexual harassment lawsuits. O'Reilly has said he normally takes a vacation at about this time of year and his trip has nothing to do with the lawsuits.

O'Reilly was reportedly in a VIP section during the Pope's weekly general audience.

The Vatican said last week there was no planned visit with O'Reilly. Tickets to O'Reilly's seat only come from a prefect of the papal household.

"If you can possibly take two good trips a year, it will refresh your life. We all need R&R. Put it to good use."

Earlier today, New York Magazine reported that O'Reilly was confirmed to be leaving, citing anonymous sources.

Dozens of advertisers have abandoned "The O'Reilly Factor," despite a ratings boost. O'Reilly insists he has done nothing wrong, and President Trump agrees.

Fox News executives would not comment on reports of O'Reilly's job status.
