Another couple who found love on "The Bachelor" has called it quits.
Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell announced Monday that they've decided to end their year-long engagement.
“We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another," the couple told People in an exclusive statement. "We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.”
Higgins, 29, proposed to 27-year-old Bushnell, during the March 2016 season finale of "The Bachelor."
Their engagement was controversial from the start because Higgins professed his love for both Bushnell and runner-up JoJo Fletcher.
Bushnell told ET Online that it was difficult for her to have to essentially relive "The Bachelor."
"I'm only so strong ... watching the man you love tell another woman he loves her is extremely difficult," she said.
In October, the couple revealed to People that they were going through counseling.
“We’re not the perfect couple,” Higgins told People. “Far from it! But we are trying really hard and we love each other a lot.”
The former couple repeatedly said they didn't want to rush into tying the knot.
