Kellyanne Conway said the Russia probe is wasting 'tens of millions of taxpayers' money'by Circa News

Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump, said Monday that the federal government is starting to waste "tens of millions of taxpayers' money" on the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

"We're starting to waste tens of millions of taxpayers' money on this endeavor," Conway said. "If there's something there, let's hear about it."

Conway said people who don't always agree with Trump are beginning to question the investigation, which she called "part of the resistance and obstruction."

The investigation into possible ties between Trump's campaign and Russian officials began nearly a year ago. In recent developments, the Justice Department appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel in the Russia investigation.

To date, the FBI has not made public any evidence showing Trump campaign officials colluded with Russia in the 2016 elections.

Not everyone agreed with Conway's assessment.
